Executive Director
The National Trust for Historic Preservation seeks a dynamic leader individual with an entrepreneurial spirit and skill set to achieve/steer/advance the future vision of Chesterwood as a nationally recognized historic site and public museum, centered in the legacy of an internationally renowned artist, committed to activating its buildings, collections, and landscape for diverse audiences through innovative programming including the launch of a new artist-in-residency program.  The Executive Director ensures that Chesterwood embodies best practices in historic preservation, interpretation, education, and in making history relevant to today’s audience by exemplifying justice, diversity, equity, access, and inclusion in all aspects of its operations. Tour Guides and Visitor Services Associates (seasonal, part-time)
Tour guides serve as friendly ambassadors who lead group tours in interpreting the history of the site, its buildings and grounds, and placing the life and art of Daniel Chester French (1850-1931) in historical and contemporary context for the visitor.
Visitor Services Associates oversee the visitors orientation, admissions and gift shop sales, and manage the flow of tours and the visitor experience.

INTERNSHIPS

Interns have long been the back bone of everything we do at Chesterwood since the property opened to the public in 1969. Past interns have worked closely with our full-time staff in curatorial initiatives, educational programs, marketing, fund-raising, and special events.
